Newswire Timetable

Every year goalies from across North America train with coaches of the Goaltending Consultant Group.  The GCG camps give many of these goalies the opportunity to train together and bond as fellow goalies. The GCG Newswire is a way to acknowledge and share the successes of all of the goaltenders who have benefitted from training with CGC Consultants, as well as enable them to keep current and support each other. GCG clients should feel free to contact us with any awards or accomplishments that we may add to the Newswire - your news is our news!

Flemming Ices Commandos (Prospects)
Feb. 6, 2009

Andrew Flemming minds the net for the Amherst Ramblers and is currently one of the top goaltenders in the MJAHL. Andrew trains with Alexander Goaltending and GCG Consultant John Alexander.

The Amherst Ramblers (25-15-2-3) defeated the Dieppe Commandos (23-17-1-2) by a score of 4-2 on Saturday night in Amherst. Jeremy Barron and Mathew Squires matched each other in scoring to lead the Ramblers with a goal and an assist each.

Trevor Layton opened scoring on the powerplay for the Rams at 11:07 of the first. The Commandos answered in the second with a goal from Ryan Stoddard, also on the powerplay at 3:59. In the third the teams again exchanged powerplay goals. Mathew Squires scored at 1:21, followed very soon by Dan Joyce for Dieppe at 2:40. Jeremy would score next for Amherst, unassisted, to put the Rams in the lead for the last time as Eric Boudreau would score the fourth and final at 18:47 to give the Rams the win.

Andrew Flemming stopped 25 of 27 for the win while Wendell Vye stopped 22 of 26 in the losing effort.
