Flemming Pitches Shutout, Advances to Finals (Prospects)

Andrew Flemming minds the net for the Amherst Ramblers and is currently one of the top goaltenders in the MJAHL. Andrew trains with Alexander Goaltending and GCG Consultant John Alexander

Game # 6 Bent Division Semi-Final

The Amherst Ramblers (4-2) blanked the Yarmouth Mariners (2-4) 3-0 Tuesday night in Yarmouth in game # 6 of a Bent Division Semi-Final.

With the win, Amherst takes the series 4-2.

Adam Verrette led the Ramblers with 2 goals while Justin Matthews added 2 assists.

After a scoreless first period, Verrette (powerplay, game winner) opened the scoring at 8:45 to give the Ramblers a 1-0 lead after the second period. Adam Chipman added an insurance goal at 12:09 to extend the lead to 2-0. Verrette (second goal of game) rounded out the scoring 46 seconds later at 12:55.

Amherst went 1 for 7 on the powerplay while Yarmouth went 0 for 7.

Andrew Flemming stopped all 36 shots for the shutout victory while Justin Collier (52:55) stopped 24 of 27 shots in the loss before being replaced by Dallas Ungurian. Ungurian (7:05) stopped the 4 shots he faced the remainder of the game.

The Amherst Ramblers will now take on the Truro Bearcats in the Bent Division Final.
